Quarantine Video: Original Dixieland One-Step

Band of Praise is off the riverboats, out of the music halls, and gone from the funeral parades for the duration of the pandemic. In response, we've made our own Quarantine Video of the early jazz classic and first commercial recording form 1917 - “Original Dixieland One-Step.”

Props and a special thank you to Don Barto and his Soundriven audio/video studio for putting the pieces together so beautifully. http://soundriven.com/

Jazz Funeral in Minnesota

This video of Band of Praise was produced to show how a funeral held in the New Orleans tradition might look and sound in Minnesota.

The Adath-Yeshurun Cemetery in Edina, Minnesota is small and beautifully cared for. Its graceful slopes flatten out to the north bank of Minnehaha Creek. October 2nd in Minnesota can be a cold, cloudy, damp affair ... but not on this day.
